About the yarn: This luxurious 2/15nm, 100% Cashmere yarn on a cone is perfect for machine knitters and sweater designers! A 2/15 nm yarn has approximately 7.5 m/g or 3712.5 yds/lb. Note that 454 g= 1 lb = 16 Oz.
Are you ready to create incredible, covetable finished knit pieces that are worthy of the hard work you put into them? This cashmere is a perfect choice! We're obsessed with this yarn! It's so beautiful!
Price is by the gram, so enter the quantity (# of grams) you want and we will provide a custom wound cone. In some rare cases, the total quantity may have to be provided on more than one cone. Email us if you have questions: firstname.lastname@example.org
This yarn is best used on a standard gauge 4.5mm or 5mm knitting machine. We have had beautiful results using less weight than with other yarns (to avoid any breakage). 250-300 grams is sufficient for a women's medium long-sleeved, pullover with crew neck.
This cashmere carries the OEKOTEX Standard 100 certification.
Finishing recommendation: after you knit your piece, it will look sad and weird lol. Don't worry! After washing, it will look incredible. Hand wash it twice in lukewarm water using a small squirt of a non-ionic detergent (we use Palmolive Pure and Clear) to remove all spinning oil from the yarn. Rinse your piece in water throughly between each wash. We wash in a clean sink, Tupperware or vase and agitate with a plastic cooking spoon. Next, agitate and soak your knitted piece with a squirt of a high-quality liquid fabric softener (we use The Laundress Fabric Conditioner because it smells amazing, but also use Mrs Meyer's Fabric Softener with fantastic results). Rinse, then squeeze to remove excess water. Tumble dry on medium heat until dry (you only want to dry in the machine during the finishing process, otherwise you cause too much stress on the yarn). We've found it helpful to dry a single knitted piece with a couple of other medium sized, non-textured garments (such as sweatshirts) so that the heat is well distributed and dry time is shortened. Be careful not to keep knitted garment in dryer much past the point that it is just the slightest bit damp to avoid excess shrinkage). Lastly, pop your gorgeous new cashmere knit out of the dryer! No blocking needed if it measures to your specs. Otherwise, block and lightly steam to your desired measurements.
